Real-time Texas weather intelligence
Live Texas weather, resolved into a decision.
TxAviso reads 660+ stations across Texas in real time and computes a clear GO / CAUTION / NO-GO for the calls that hinge on weather — spraying, freeze protection, wind-sensitive work, and fire risk. Delivered on a live map, through targeted alerts, and over an enterprise API.
TexMesonet · ASOS · RAWS · NWS alerts · radar · refreshed continuously
The problem
Everyone has the weather. Almost no one has the call.
Radar, forecasts, and station feeds are everywhere — but they still leave a person to decide whether to spray the field, protect the crop, send up the crane, or stage for a fire. TxAviso closes that last gap: it turns raw observations into a scope-aware, evidence-based verdict, with the exact numbers that drove it. Not a forecast to interpret — an aviso, an advisory you can act on.
Operational intelligence
Four products. One clear signal.
Each product computes a deterministic GO / CAUTION / NO-GO from live observations — never a guess. Every result carries its confidence, the values behind it, and a plain-language advisory.
Spray Window
Wind speed, gusts, temperature inversion, and Delta T resolved into safe application windows for aerial and ground spraying.

- gusts
- inversion
- ΔT
Freeze Risk
Freeze probability, timing, and duration for crop protection and infrastructure — with lead time before the first hour below threshold.
- air temp
- dewpoint
- wind
- sky
Wind Operations
Sustained wind, gust, and direction scored against operating limits for aviation, cranes, construction, and utility line work.

Fire Weather
Relative humidity, wind, temperature, and fuel dryness scored for red-flag conditions, correlated with active NWS fire-weather alerts.

How it works
From station reading to acted-on advisory.
660+ live stations
Continuous ingestion from TexMesonet, ASOS airport stations, and RAWS fire-weather stations, plus NWS alerts and radar — into a rolling PostgreSQL store.
Deterministic products
Evidence-based engines score each location against operational thresholds and return a GO / CAUTION / NO-GO with confidence and drivers.
Grounded AI assistant
“Interpret with TxAviso” answers plain-language questions from the live data first — citing the actual numbers, not guessing.
Map, alerts & API
The same intelligence reaches you three ways: an interactive map, targeted alerts by email and webhook, and a multi-tenant REST API.
The dashboard
A live map built for situational awareness.
Every station, alert, and radar sweep on one interactive MapLibre GL map — tuned for operators who need the whole state at a glance and one county in detail.
- ◍Real-time station markers with wind barbs and alert-aware symbology.
- ◐Animated radar overlay with recent precipitation playback.
- ▲NWS official alerts integrated with severity-aware display.
- ▦Texas county boundaries with click-through station and product popups.
- ↻Continuous refresh with automated retention on a rolling observations database.
Alerting engine
Hear about the conditions that matter — not the noise.
Channels & triggers
Email and signed webhooks. Fires on threshold alerts opening and clearing, spray-window transitions, and official NWS alerts.
Precise scoping
Subscribe statewide, by region, by county, or by specific stations — with category filters and a minimum-severity floor.
Respectful delivery
Per-recipient quiet hours, timezone awareness, and a full delivery and audit log so nothing is missed or duplicated.
Intelligence API
Put the call inside your own systems.
A multi-tenant REST API delivers the same operational intelligence to partner platforms, dashboards, and field tools — scoped by county, region, or station.
- ◆Tiered API keys with per-key product entitlements.
- ◷Hourly quotas, IP allowlisting, and full request auditing.
- ⛉Role-based accounts, org-level administration, and self-service key management.

Built for
Teams whose day is decided by the weather.
Agriculture
Growers and aerial applicators timing spray windows and freeze protection down to the county.
Utilities & energy
Line crews and operators planning wind-sensitive and fire-risk work with defensible thresholds.
Emergency management
Municipalities and EM teams watching fire weather and severe alerts across the whole state.
Platforms & developers
Weather and ag-tech products embedding TxAviso intelligence over the API.
Enterprise & trust
Production-grade from the data up.
TxAviso was hardened for organizations, not demos — with real access control, auditability, and fail-safe behavior built in.
Access & identity
API-key and human-user authentication, role-based accounts, org administration, and IP allowlisting.
Auditable by design
Full request auditing, per-key quotas and entitlements, and delivery logs across alerts and the API.
Data you can trust
Data-quality and freshness monitoring on every feed, with automated anomaly checks and retention.
Fail-safe controls
Explicit strict modes for quota and allowlist enforcement — choose availability or hard denial, per deployment.
Compliance logs
Chemical-application records captured with the weather snapshot at time of use, exportable to PDF and CSV.
Modern stack
React 18 + MapLibre GL front end, Node.js/Express services, PostgreSQL 16, containerized with Docker.
